Hi, I’m t. tara turk-haynes.

I believe storytelling isn’t just an art; it’s a strategic tool that shapes culture, builds inclusion, and drives business success.

Workplaces, like the most engaging stories, are strongest when every voice has the space to show up and contribute to the bigger picture. As a strategist, builder, and champion for equitable workplaces, I help organizations turn equity from an initiative into an operating advantage where people and companies don’t just coexist but thrive together.

As the Founder of Equity Activations, I partner with organizations to embed measurable equity strategies into the core of how they hire, lead, and grow. My work spans talent acquisition systems, leadership development, organizational culture, and inclusive communications, helping teams move from good intentions to sustained, data-backed impact.

Before launching Equity Activations, I built and led equitable people systems that reshaped how companies attract, develop, and retain talent. Those experiences now inform my approach as an entrepreneur, combining strategic insight with creative execution to design frameworks that outlast any one leader or initiative.

My work and thought leadership have been featured in Fast Company, Lars Schmidt’s Redefining HR, and on stages including Culture Amp’s Culture First, RecFest, and other forums for leaders shaping the future of work. I have also been a featured guest on numerous podcasts, including Workfluencer, Purple Acorn, Disability Solutions, and I Hate It Here, where I share insights on building equitable systems, storytelling in leadership, and the real work behind inclusion and strategy.

A first-generation college graduate and corporate leader turned founder, I am passionate about helping companies write their next chapter, one where equitable practices, innovation, and business strategy are embedded in the DNA of how they operate.

Speaking

The fact that we are here and that I speak these words is an attempt to break that silence and bridge some of those differences between us, for it is not difference which immobilizes us, but silence. And there are so many silences to be broken. - Audre Lorde
