As an in house People Leader I often came across leaders who were reluctant to change. It wasn’t malicious. They just believed that their lived experiences mirrored everyone’s lived experiences. It has been my pleasure to highlight the myriad of backgrounds in the workplace so we can build better ones. Sometimes what we think isn’t based on facts but on what we experienced - that works sometimes. But sometimes, especially in People Operations, that can be a gateway to bias.
